The Sanderson Gazette - 2010-04-26 - Draft Lottery Results 2010

In this issue: The eagerly-awaited draft lottery results! Also, a potential Blingaleague international outing?

Draft Lottery

I ran the draft lottery tonight, as I was getting tired of being in possession of both (a) my computer and (b) a leaguemember to witness the program run. I trust that you all trust me, as I am very trustworthy.

The following is the official draft order for round one of the 2010 Blingaleague Draft:

  1. Adam Pulley

  2. Mark Babel

  3. Pat Gawne

  4. Allen Clark

  5. Mike Romor

  6. Dave Fultz

  7. Ed Gross

  8. Kevin Pattermann

  9. Rob Gross

  10. Derrek Drenckpohl

  11. Nick Warren

  12. Matt Harrison

As always, even-numbered rounds will have a reverse order.

Draft Update

The last Sunday of the offseason is September 5th. While I'm not going to make the futile attempt to hammer down a draft date now, I would appreciate it if you guys could let me know any weekends in the weeks leading up until then as soon as you can.

Keepers Update

Expect keeper emails starting around the Fourth of July. Keepers will be declared in order of league finish (Matt-Rabbit-Derrek-Rob-Kevin-Ed-Allen-Pat-Mark-Mike-Dave-Adam).

Weekly Awards

Team Blangums: Chalk prevails, as Pulley cashes in on his also-ran-best 28% chance of winning the first pick.

Slapped Heartbeat: On the flip side, Dave can't cash in on his second-best 36% chance of getting a top-two pick, slipping all the way to #6. To rub salt on this wound, there was only an 11% chance of him getting the sixth pick.

Start of the Week: For the first time in its short history, the Blingaleague expects all twelve owners to return in the fall. (Please, let me know if this is not the case, ASAP.)

Misplay of the Week: Dave, for nearly every decision over the past three years.

Closing Thoughts

As many of you may know, the Bears are scheduled to play a game in the untrustworthy nation of Canada! They visit the parking-garage-deficient city of Toronto to take on the Buffalo Bills on November 7th. Personally, I think it would be fun to get a group together to get tickets and travel to Toronto for this game. Even better if it includes a trip to NASA, where one Blingaleague member drew props for his role in a dance-off.

Would anyone be up for such a trip?

Commissionerally yours,

-Ed
