The Sanderson Gazette - 2013-05-26 - First Pick is Hot, but Has an Attitude, Doesn't Date Magicians

Sorry for the delay on this. But better late than never.

Offseason Rules Changes

You all voted, and the results are in!

First up, we decided to change when players lock for waivers. Rather than have all players lock at noon on Sunday, we will now be making use of a new Yahoo setting. Players will now lock at the start of their game. This means players in the Thursday night games lock earlier, but also that you won’t be as hurt by game-time Sunday night and Monday night decisions.

Next, we voted on lee fees and payouts. Of the eleven responses, nine were in favor of upping the league fee to $40 total (up from $30). As part of this, we will begin having a weekly $10 payout to Team Blangums. Of the remaining money, 60% ($258) goes to first place, 30% ($129) to second, 10% ($43) to third.

We also voted on how to penalize QBs for taking sacks. The option that received the most votes was to keep the current setting, which is -1 point per sack. (A supermajority of eleven votes would have been needed to change the setting.)

Receiving scoring went the same way as sacks. The majority of you voted to keep the current method, with 1 point for every 7.5 yards.

Summary: no scoring or lineup changes this year, but waivers will work slightly differently. And you’ll owe $40 instead of $30, and there are weekly payouts.
