Semifinals Recap

Babel def. Pulley, 133.54-111.64:

For the second time in three years, Babel won a must-win week thirteen game, got Team Blangums in the process, then stayed hot through the semifinals. Dez Bryant's 33.20 led the way this week, but Mark won primarily due to balance; Russell Wilson's 8.10 was his low score. Pulley got 20.50 from DeMarco Murray, but that wasn't enough to stop the Polish Steam Engine.

Rabbit def. Matt, 125.32-70.48:

If it weren't for Drew Brees's 28.95 on Monday night, Matt might have set the playoff futility record. That's not to take away from Rabbit, though; Rob Gronkowski scored 18.80 for Nick and Harry Douglas added 17.47. Tony Romo (20.15) was his high scorer.

Weekly Awards

Team Blangums: Babel takes this for the third straight week, with a score of 133.54.

Slapped Heartbeat: Matt's 70.48 is the fifth-lowest playoff score of all time.

Weekly MVP: Dez Bryant's 33.20 were huge for Mark.

Dud of the Week: Jamaal Charles's 5.33 isn't that low of a score, but when you're a stud RB playing the Raiders, well, you have to do better.

Season Postmortems

Matt Harrison (Harrison Hammers, 8-7, 3rd/4th (final record and place pending)):

Matt rebounded nicely from a 1-3 start, winning his next five. The three-game losing streak which followed nearly bumped him from the playoffs, but a solid win over his rival, Mike R., pushed him to the #6 seed. If a semifinal appearance is a disappointment for any franchise, though, it's Matt.

Expected wins (regular season): 7.026.

Adam Pulley (Pullman's MondoSquad, 9-5, 3rd/4th (final record and place pending)):

Pulley dominated the early part of the regular season, as each of his first four weeks' scores would win over 83% of the time. He rightfully wound up 4-0 at that point. He had a very active trade deadline, taking a huge gamble on Andrew Luck and Adrian Peterson. And while that gamble didn't pay off, it only hurt him a little; the two regular-season losses it affected would have pushed Pulley to #1 overall, and he'd have beaten Matt this past week.

Expected wins (regular season): 9.006.

Blingabowl VII Preview

#1 Pralines & Dick (Rabbit, 11-3) vs. #5 Keep Calm and Le'Veon (Babel, 9-6):

Rabbit leads all-time series, 5-3.

These two have one previous playoff meeting, a 2012 semifinals matchup in which Babel ended Rabs's two-year hold on the Sanderson Cup.

Obviously, Rabs wants his revenge. He'll be hoping for a huge week from Randall Cobb (@TB) and Rob Gronkoswki (@NYJ), and that Marshawn Lynch can just do enough at Arizona.

Babel and Sandy may have had a tiff in the Blingachat this past weekend, but I'm sure Mark is willing to bury the hatchet with a victory this week. Russell Wilson (@ARI) has a tough matchup, but Jeremy Maclin (@WAS) and Dez Bryant (vs. IND) have juicy ones. And Le'Veon Bell (vs. KC) is going to do Le'Veon things.

Pick: Keep Calm and Le'Veon.

Third-Place Game Preview

#2 Pullman's MondoSquad (Pulley, 9-6) vs. #6 Harrison Hammers (Matt, 8-7):

Pulley leads all-time series, 4-3.

One of these two can salvage some more money from the season (they each have some Blangums winnings coming their way).

Pick: Harrison Hammers.
