"Jonathan Stewart outlasted Allen." - Pulley

Draft Recap

Scott

Theme: "No one ever went broke betting on the Lions"

Scott went with David Johnson first overall... but then three of his next five picks (Golden Tate at 2.14, Kerryon Johnson at 5.01, and Matthew Stafford at 6.14) all play for Detroit. That'll be a hell of a bye week handicap.

Ed

Theme: "I guess I'll take Drew Brees here"

While my plan going in was to wait on a QB, I couldn't stop myself from taking Drew Brees at 5.02. I'm not particularly strong at WR, though I have a lot of depth there.

Mike R.

Theme: "Top talent early, The Legend of Bernie Vance late"

Bernie nabbed Antonio Brown at 1.03, and Travis Kelce slid to him at 2.14. And he had to take Vance McDonald in the fourteenth round to add to his fairly balanced roster.

Richie

Theme: "Golden Oldies"

In rounds four, five, six, nine, and ten, Richie drafted the following players: Tom Brady, Kyle Rudolph, Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson, and DeSean Jackson. I think he's one of the favorites to win the 2013 Sanderson Cup.

Schertz

Theme: "Why would I wait to draft a QB and TE?"

Schertz made some bold early moves: Saquon Barkley at 1.05, Aaron Rodgers at 2.10, and Greg Olsen at 3.05. But after keeper Josh Gordon, his WRs don't look especially imposing.

Matt

Theme: "Tight ends are always a sound investment"

Despite having kept Evan Engram, Matt found himself drafting Rob Gronkowski at 2.09 after the Patriots' TE fell farther than many expected. Gronk added to Melvin Gordon in the first and Brandin Cooks in the third could mean our Monster Heel is headed back to the top.

Rabbit

Theme: "Risk tolerance"

LeSean McCoy at 2.08 could be a great pick if the league's Wheel O' Justice lands on "no suspension" for his off-field issues. There were more risks on Rabbit's roster: Chris Carson (4.08) and Ronald Jones (5.07) are in uncertain backfield situations, Jordan Reed (6.08) is rarely healthy, and Eric Decker (14.08) has already retired.

Pat

Theme: "Shoot for the moon"

Pat took Dalvin Cook, Kenyan Drake, Jarvis Landry, and Sammy Watkins with his first four picks. Cook is coming of an ACL injury, Drake has never been a #1 back before, and Landry and Watkins just signed big free agent deals and will be adjusting to their new teams. If all four picks hit, #PlayoffPat will finally be trending; if not, it'll more of the same post-week-thirteen blues.

Dave

Theme: "Motion to change the RB position to a third flex spot"

The Fultzyboys took WRs with the first three picks (Odell Beckham, Jr.; Doug Baldwin; and Allen Robinson) before grabbing Carlos Hyde at 4.06. Besides Hyde, their RB depth consists of backups, change-of-pace backs, and injured rookies.

Rob

Theme: "High floor early"

Rob stuck with some proven veterans in the first half of the draft, choosing A.J. Green, Tyreek Hill, Jay Ajayi, Mark Ingram, and Kelvin Benjamin in rounds one through five. He winds up with an overall solid roster without any obvious holes.

Kevin

Theme: "Great keepers go a long way"

Devonta Freeman was a safe, if unexciting, pick at 1.11, but that's probably all Kevin needed to do given he already had Keenan Allen and Alvin Kamara on board.

Pulley

Theme: "But I really wanted Greg Olsen"

Did Allen leave some sort of spell on Pulley? Uncharacteristically, the Pullman attempted to draft both Greg Olsen and Amari Cooper with his third round pick, even though both were off the board by then. (He eventually settled on Chris Hogan at 3.12, followed by Jimmy Graham at 4.03.)

Babel

Theme: "What I told you you could draft three quarterbacks?"

Mark decided to go for depth at QB, taking Jared Goff at 7.13, Derek Car at 11.13, and Baker Mayfield at 16.02. Prior to that, he added Mike Evans (1.13) and Marshawn Lynch (4.02) to his strong keepers (Leonard Fournette and Kareem Hunt).

Derrek

Theme: "You get a Davante! You get a DeVante! Everybody gets a Devontae!"

If Kevin hadn't taken Devonta Freeman prior to D's first pick, you just know he'd be listed here instead of Christian McCaffrey (2.01). Derrek also went homer with his QB (Kirk Cousins at 6.01) and defense (Vikings at 11.14).
